Dude - mad respect for stepping up to raise the kids. All the best.
Also - for Op-Sec, don't put pictures of your guns on the internet. Someone somewhere might be able to doxx you. We've fought against gun registration since the 1930's because we don't want the government (or anyone else) to know who's got guns. Freely posting pictures kind of reverses that.
Exactly this. A single dude, a married couple with kids under 10, someone elderly who has a spouse with alzheimers, and a married couple with kids in their teens all likely have different gun storage plans. If it works for their house, great. If the only way you can own your gun safely is to store it at a relatives house, I'm still happy that you are a firearms owners.
When I had a roommate my guns were loaded and unlocked when I was around. When I first got married, I just put shit wherever. After my kids were born everything was up high, then locked down hard, then not so bad, now locked up tight with quick access. When my kids move out, I'll have a desk drawer gun again.
If you lock them because of legal requirements they're probably fine (IANAL).
If you lock them to keep kids out, you might want to upgrade. Youtuber Lockpickinglawyer regularly makes fun of these locks. His quality standard for gun locks is whether they'd keep a "curious adolescent" out or not (hint: most won't)
For all u smartass comment warriors.
In PA a judge can order your guns to be locked and stored in a separate room from the locked ammo.
My brother died 10/13/2019 and I have custody of his kids, his commie ex wife has made my life hell.
Sorry for your loss. Fuck that judge, though. I hope he or she chokes to death on a ham sandwich.
I hope those pictures of him compromised with children show up

Amen, brother.
You did one thing right. No serial numbers in the picture. Google AI crawls the web looking for serial numbers on firearms to tie to individuals.
OK I agree with your sentiment. Just no point in making yourself a target.
Non nobis Domine non nobis sed Nomini Tuo da Gloriam
I grew up without a dad, his choice, I wont let them grow up without a dad because of something they cannot control.
Ignore the tactical gatekeepers, do what is best for you and your family. Keep the 2A strong patriot!
