Probably quicker than that, but I'm not worried about being doxxed. That isn't a very effective tactic IMO if you're trying to intimidate someone like myself.
There's really only two things I've heard of in the past. Folks have been known to use photos people have shared, and their serial numbers to create fake auctions for your firearm to scam somebody else. Shouldn't ever come back on you, but they can use it to scam others.
They can also use it to report your gun as stolen. Now, some folks will say "so what, I have the receipt"...and if you do, then great. But if you purchased it from a private sale, it could cause you trouble. Keep in mind, too, that there is a stolen gun database that does not require a police report. A friend of mine (who originally advised me of these shenanigans) had somebody post one of his serial numbers to that database. Caused him a lot of problems, as lots of folks use that for private sales and he buys/sells often.
Now, for the possibly-soon-to-be issue...I wouldn't risk anything right now with the ridiculous gun bill they're throwing around Congress.
Anyway, since this one is lost at sea, much like mine were, it's no worries. Stay safe, Pede.
Can I anonymously report a car stolen that isn't mine? A guy cut me off the other day and I got his plate numbers. Seems like a good way to get him back and fuck with him.
Yeah - in this case, that gun is certainly papered and ATF knows all about it. (Pedes - see the little hole above the selector?)
The best reason to not show serial numbers on NFA weapons is that scammers reuse these pics and "sell" the gun to a buyer who typically puts up 1/2 the price (the pictured gun is worth at least $20k) and waits the 1 year for transfer.
Should have sticked to using iron sights. The manly strength you would have developed would have prevented your weak woman like grip from dropping it over the boat.
Should be easy to find since you left the damn serial number on it.
Seriously who tf stickied this, #ππππππππππ πππππππππππππππππππ
Should you cover the serial number when posting?
YES
It's my first Sunday GUNDAY post. I have learned a valuable lesson. Thanks for the tips.
I'm not worried about it.
Become worried about it. People can do some sinister shit when they have your serial number.
I'm not trying to sound sarcastic or arrogant when I ask this, I generally am curious: like what?
One ATF agent could dox you in about 15 minutes.

Thanks for the info. Very interesting.
Well for one, small minor example they can report it stolen to fuck with you.

Reminder to block out serial numbers so the atf canβt easily match usernames to gun owners.
Lol yeah and Biden won the election fair and square.
The non serial number side is way prettier imho.
NFA with the serial number showing.

Dude, that's an Anderson lower, that guns not worth over $15,000
Unobtanium is hella expensive
Not sure why you got downvoted.
I saw Colt. Didn't keep looking.
Not familiar with Anderson. Sendra, yeah.
Still - I think you could hold out for $20k, even with a clone.
I was being facetious BTW

π. Great point. Can't argue with that.
Vintage beauty
Why don't you just get a new upper? A scope on top of the carry handle is goofy and it'll be way off.
I noticed that too.
I actually haven't had the chance to shoot it. Don't think I ever will now, because of the fact it's lost of course.
1.93 has entered the chat
It was a recent gift.
Until recently, top scientists held on to classified top secret information that guns are not good swimmers. Stay informed patriot.
Bruh dont post the SN, it's as easy as flipping it the other way
Thanks for the tips on hiding the serial numbers. Who ever finds it will at least by able to cross reference my post.
Third hole, shows serial matched to tax stamp: can't talk shit on the internet no more.
As much as boating accidents are funny... when it's time to bury your weapons, it's time to use them.
Bummer, you too?
How many here even know what that third pin means?
Not me. I have an AR still in the box, unfired. I think I should sell it and get a 'regular' looking semi-auto and a bazillion small magazines.
brrrrrt
My sincere condolences for your loss
Always cover the serial
Fuck anyone who says "I lost them in a boating accident omg lol"
When you have to hide them, it's time to use them. These gun posts make me sick while a fraudulent administration is in power.
you're not wrong
Thank you fully agree with your view on the boating bullshit, 25 year old boring stupid shit thats the opposite attitude you need to have.
And your second point makes the gun posting such a larp. What good are they in the hands of people too cowardly to use them?
HOLY FUCK PEOPLE. HANDGUNS POINT TO LEFT. LONG GUNS POINT TO RIGHT. STOP SHOWING YOUR SERIAL NUMBERS.
You may need to start posting "Have you seen me?" flyers everywhere.
Lost at sea? Most people lost theirs in battle.
PSA: 80% lowers have no serial numbers so nothing to worry about.
Shits likely already in a database by some fed, but OP should delete and reupload with it covered.
Sunday Gundam was used by people to ID gun owners. You people are stupid.
I'm still looking for mine...way out in the Gulf of Mexico....skin diving
Iβm sure some Kriminal will find it for you!
SEArial number... i'll sea myself to the door
Just wondering if you can give me the GPS coordinates where you lost it so I can go with a big magnet... π
Nice serial number you have there
Who is volunteerly going to give up their weapons when the Feds come after them?
Breath of fresh air
This happens every time I partake in an amphibious raid on an election rigging / vote switching pedo sweat shop off the coast of Delaware.
