You are probably correct. Trump will be 80 years old at that point. DeSantis has a very solid record and considerable support in Florida. One other name that comes up is Candice Owens. She is good but she will be pilloried by the media for not completing her college degree.
He's smart. He won't out play Trump. If Trump runs in 2024, DeSantis will fan his flame and move in once Trump leaves. And Trump will back him.
