I know I'll get downvoted to hell. But what could be actually have done? Feels like he's a scapegoat. What he actually had control of her did great with. He eviscerated Harris in the VP debate and I'll always be thankful I got to see that.
(Happy to be proven wrong, but my understanding is that he couldn't reject the electors as much as we have all said he could have.)
Pence could have demurred and kicked it back to the states since there were competing electors, which made it a contested election. Ultimately it would have ended up in our favor 26-24, and despite the blatant rigging the left would have lost, again, just like in 2016. As it should have been.
Instead he went along with it, because he had his eye on his future career in politics instead of fighting for what’s right.
He didn’t even see the President off, and instead went to Biden’s inauguration. He values decorum over loyalty, and he pissed away the support of 75 million people.
Trump would have been physically removed from office when his term was up anyway. Anything Pence did would have been just as pointless as Trump locking himself in the Oval Office on January 20th and refusing to come out voluntarily.
6 states sent 2 sets of electors. One set "certified" one set from the legislatures. The 12th amendment says that the legislatures of the states determine how the electors are appointed. It would have been an easy punt for him to just say, "you six states legislatures, figure this shit out and send ONE set of electors, or you ain't getting counted". Then he could have given them a 72 hour deadline, or else the House (by vote by state delegation) would have chosen the pres.
It was simple. It was easy. He chose to be part of the swamp.
It would not have been simple, easy, or successful, since laws had been passed to prevent that type of stunt from happening again after it was already tried long ago. Any further attempts to challenge those laws would have been thrown out just like before, and everything would've turned out exactly the same.
If someone puts a gun to your head and asks you to denounce Jesus, I wouldn’t blame you for not taking the bullet.
Right doesn’t mean easy, it doesn’t mean not extremely difficult.
Sometimes the bar is set higher than is reasonable.

i agree buddy i don’t think you can fault someone for not having the immense bravery required to do what “we” wanted him to do
How about just doing what is 'right'?
He has no principles!
