Define well? Wages are low here because it is a right to work state.

Right to work isn't the major reason for low wages there. COL is way lower, and there are many seniors who only want to work a little so as not to mess up their SS tax situation. But they still want out of the house and a little side money. So they 'share' jobs, work four hour days or two days a week. I've also never seen anyplace with so many people on SSDI. This was late 80's/early 90's. I'm sure many things have improved since then, but this is part of the equation.
