I’ve read that, while dogs have a hierarchical mindset that leads to a very tight boss-employee relationship, cats’ emotional setup lends to more of a parent-child relationship. I don’t really know how that happened, they just figured out that they like us for some reason in the early agricultural era and decided to stick around. I mean you don’t have to get all purry and snuggly to hang around the edges of town and catch mice, but I’m glad they did.
