Stay the fuck away from any Fiat Chrysler products. Not just because they support commies, but because they're unreliable piles of shit. Transmissions have major problems and most of the new ones end up in the junkyard at 100k.
IMO the only "American" car brand worth buying these days is Ford.
I put American in quotes because most of it isn't even manufactured here these days -- GM now manufactures most cars in Mexico or elsewhere. In fact, many Toyotas (e.g. the Tundra) are more "American" than the American brands like GM and Chrysler since they're actually manufactured here.
Must be the new Cherokee, not the XJ. I have an XJ with over 200k on the clock and she's a frakin tank. You can beat the crap out of that straight 6 and it just shrugs it off.
Had an Xj. Bashed the crap out of it. Engine finally blew after putting a new cam in it, and not changing the running in oil for a year. Also had a hole in my radiator that I kinda left to do its thing. She loved running hot.
That thing held up to some pretty crazy abuse off-road too. Xjs are badass. I’ve now got a Wagoneer and actually look after this one. Still.. always got a soft spot for xjs.
Anyone who is buying a Jeep that isn't a Wrangler is a Grade-A fucktard. Literally every other manufacturer makes competitive models. The Wrangler is the only vehicle in their lineup with zero competition, at least until the Ford Bronco becomes more available.
Jeeps (talking Wranglers because that's the only Jeep worth buying) have always had problems, and their pricing is unforgivable in that light. Honestly the only reason anyone is buying them is because they're the only vehicle in that class, at least, until the Ford Bronco becomes more available.
Toyota had the FJ Cruiser to compete but it still wasn't super "Jeepy", but they definitely are more fun offroad than a 4Runner is.
The really funny part is that they were GREAT when they were Diamler Chrysler. I have a 2008 Jeep Liberty, and 13 Northeastern salty road years, 130k miles, multiple upgrades and hard wheeling later it's still going strong. (If a bit rusty around the edges now.) Selling Chrysler to the Italians ruined it. Made them way more expensive and less reliable.
I almost thought to buy one. Now, never

My sister's Cherokee had so many fucking electrical and suspension problems that she could have bought 2 American cars for the price of the repairs.

Camrys and Avalons outside Lexington, KY, trucks in Texas.
Toyota Trucks are actually made in America!
Built in America***
Parts are made in Mexico.

The downside is that you have a Toyota truck.

New jeeps are French fag-mobiles

I’d rather an Xj or fsj over any new wrangler

Germans know how to build engines.

I’ve owned 3 SRT’s and tan them into the dirt. They’re fine. Fuck off.
New Ford Bronco is the bomb
