We would never carbomb their kids. It is a defining feature of "us" that we do not seek to end the lives of innocent people to advance our cause. We cannot become like them in that aspect because "we" is defined as excluding that action.
"Our side", that is, the side of the people seeking the freedom to live and let live, has historically rarely-to-never employed such tactics. When it comes down to it, "our side" goes for the throat, not the heart.
What separates us from them? Our unwillingness to defend ourselves from degenerates that wish to see our complete destruction, evidently. You can keep going on about that “moral superiority” and “hearts and minds” bullshit all the way to the gulag. I prefer to live free, by any means.
