First Person Shooters arw used to normalize targeting real people. Uncontrolled that is probably not such a good thing, but I dont think they ruined us.

I don't think it is netflix and pot either.

People are still comfortable. Revolutions dony really come out of central heating and air anf a full pantry. They come from lack of comfort OR direct immediate threat.

We wont know how people are now until the threat is immediate. Yes they are "normalizing" the concept (have been for years but amped up with msnbc discussing droning americans in america), so it may just be a matter of time or it may never see fruition.

Bread and circuses.

It's not the bread at fault, it's not the circuses at fault. It's the happy distraction, which could have been anything, that is used to prevent us from seeing the truth.

That's the thing, the threat won't ever really be "immediate". People have seen their own neighborhoods turned into shitholes, they've had to personally deal with that. They just move to a different neighborhood. There's always an escape.

Video games and movies and everything else like that are used as escapes first and foremost. Distractions. And video games especially can be a huge sap on mens' work-reward drive. Instead of striving to build something real and enjoy its real benefits we can just simulate that by gaming. Same type of issue as with porn, another problem a lot of people on our side refuse to accept.
