Because they’ve ensured they can by corrupting every single institution that is set up to stop their behaviour, by placing people they know will happily lie, cheat, steal, commit murder, attempted murder, blackmail, destroy lives and nations, just to get what they want.

I think President Trump's biggest achievement was showing everyone in the world who cared to see that those on the left and many on the right, were wearing a mask of tolerance and/or goodness to hide the demon underneath.

I believe this impeachment is to send a message -- You Can Not Defeat Us -- to every person inspired by Trump to feel/believe that they have sovereignty over their lives and their countries - that they are the economy and they must fight for their values and beliefs. He also showed us just how swampy all of our governments are.
