Never give up. I'm old. Do you know how easy it would be for me to sit back and say I quit. Chances are I won't live long enough for it to get really bad. Reality is it's not about me. I'm a patriot. I was raised to salute the flag, that pledge of allegiance I made actually means something and that the united States of America is the greatest country on the planet. To sit back and let it fall goes against everything I believe in. My sweet little granddaughter at 10 years old is truly the most innocent loving person I have known in my lifetime. She is so inherently good she doesn't see evil in anyone or anything. She can and will find good in every situation. I cannot/will not let them destroy her and the other innocents like her. I will do whatever is necessary to take my country back! Stand up! Make the commitment! If our fore father's had given up we wouldn't have a country. NEVER back down. You are a patriot!

Thank you for your service sir! Our soldiers/ veterans do not receive the recognition and praise they truly deserve. God bless you all!

I think we get enough, at least my generation. The generation who still has not gotten theirs are the Nam and Korea vets......and millennials, they need to get some credit too.....our generation had to fight in the nations longest war....we are war weary....as far as my service, it was fun, i enjoyed myself, made a lot of friends...but i don't want thanks genuinely. For me it was a means to and end. Had to get out of the hood. The patriotism developed slightly thereafter. But thank you.

My husband and many of our friends are vietnam era vets. I have seen with great sorrow the treatment of these great veterans on their return home from war. My husband enlisted, many were drafted. They fulfilled their responsibility to our country honorably. They were forgotten by both the american people and our government. The neglect and mistreatment of our older veterans continues. I have seen the va hospitals do everything in their power to not treat victims of agent orange.

Many people for many years enlisted to escape different situations. That is irrelevant. You did a service for the american people. In the meantime you made great friends. You strengthen your character. And yes I do not know of one single veteran who did not thoroughly enjoy at least some portion of his service. You are not so different from the ones who came before you as you may believe.

my Uncle died because of that war. God bless him he was such a young, strong, kind hearted young man when he left....I miss him.
