(The rest of their models are loaded with foreign parts.)

Hey Chrysler, maybe you should "ReUnite" your manufacturing and the U.S.

Meanwhile, my Honda Accord was built here in the great USA.

I also think Toyota is all made here.

Most popular models - - https://www.motorbiscuit.com/american-made-cars/ (but think these percentages are USA AND Canada content)

If you get a bigger engine (say an Accord V6), the percent of USA made parts is even higher.

Nice. I live in Ohio. Which is Honda country. I have a Honda plant, in my Town and another one 20 minutes away. That will be my next Vehicle Purchase

Some Toyotas are made in Japan. Toyota Pious is, I think, and 4Runner certainly is. 100% made in Japan.

Honda Accord is on my short list for my next car. Reliable, good resale value, and American made. Pretty sure it was named in the "top-10 most American cars" list until the Detroit Three bitched and moaned to get the list rules changed.

I have an old Accord as my beater. Literally the best car I’ve ever owned. Has never once let me down.

They have quirks with all the electronics. Mostly the shitty Panasonic radio, that has program glitches, more times than not. I love my car and it is safe and they hold value really well. I have the 2.O which has crazy power.

Nissan has a plant here too(and bmw). Jeep/chrysler/dodge was sold to FIAT during the big "bailout"

You can see what the domestic content (usa and canadian) is per vehicle. The 2021 numbers haven't been complete yet, but Honda does tend to have the highest domestic content across many models. It's tough for me to justify buying a car with less than 50 percent domestic content and its disgusting how many pickups barely meet that number with some having less.

I agree. I think the pickup industry also doesn't invest enough onto safety. These are driven for work and need to be safe and reliable. Seems they forget this aspect. Durability for long term is not a thought. Like everything else, if it breaks sooner, it will need to be replaced sooner. More money for them.

And that Jeep is owned by the shittiest quality American car company: Chrysler. Also related, the shittiest quality American car company is now the wife to the shittiest quality European car company: Fiat. “Aaayyyyyy! Fix it’a again Tony!”

only good jeep is an old jeep...There is no "American" autos, it's all foreign oligarch owned...buy old cars and keep them running...and learn that most everything a professional mechanic tells you is total bs..i.e. brake rebuild? $12 in parts, 15 minutes if youre competent...

Get the point

FK the System, top to bottom...there are no friendly corporations

That and your auto doesn't have a cell phone connection that can be used to shut it down and it has no way of being hacked.

yeah, and strangely your vehicle won't accelerate to 120 and make a left turn into a tree...

Yep, fuck Jeep

charbatch 2 points ago +2 / -0

Was considering getting a Jeep but getting a Bronco instead. Made in Michigan at least

Olds77 3 points ago +3 / -0

The Bronco looks way better than the Jeep anyway.

I think so too

Jeep Wrangler built Ohio, Grand Cherokee built in Detroit. As a Jeep guy, i thought their "ReUntied States of America" (with a GIANT RED STAR in the middle) was a terrible take. Didn't even know that was Springsteen. Thought it was some random fake cowboy casting call.

With all due respect, fuck Jeeps. Yes, most are assembled here, but they give American manufacturing a bad name. Loaded with junk, foreign parts. Horrible quality control, expensive as fuck to maintain, and terrible resale value. I'm the "car guy" for my group of friends, and I've been telling them to stay the fuck away from Jeeps since they redesigned the Cherokee to be "more European" in the mid-2000s.

Jeeps didn't even rank in the top-10 American-made cars list until Chrysler bitched to Car & Driver to get the rules changed.

I know your a fan, and I have no reason to shit on your hobby, but that ad got me heated last night. Total crock of shit.

I'm with you on the crock of shit add. differing opinions make the world go around. :)

Actually owned by Fiat, not an American company. I own a wrangler but have already decided my next vehicle will be a Toyota Tacoma.

2
GumMint [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Tacoma is my current daily driver. 200,000+ miles and still going. Built in America, as I'm sure you know. 100% recommend.

Came here to say this.

Can't really consider those Jeeps, but your point is well taken.
