I remember in 2012 getting super involved in the republican party, becoming a delegate and precinct chair for a bit before I moved to a different city. It had real impact. Several people from that era got into state and federal positions because of it (Rand Paul, Tomas Massie) are a couple of the senators who rode the Ron Paul wave.

Trump's wave is orders of magnitude larger and much more persistent. We need to take over the party. Trump lost not because of democrats, but because he was betrayed by local and state elected republican officials. We will never win unless we get our house in order.

Sacrificing time and money to do this is infinitely better than losing our freedom or having to go to war for it.
