The air on the plane is probably safer than anywhere else. Pressurized air comes from the engine compressor section and is ultra filtered. That’s one reason why the transmission rate is basically zero for airline travelers.

Except the air is about 70% recycled and not fresh. Yes, it goes through a hepa filter. But really. The air isnt the biggest hazard. Aircraft are cesspools of germs.

That isn’t true, most of it is fresh from outside. The pressurization system has a dump valve that lets pressure out when it reaches or exceeds the set cabin altitude. Some is recycled through filters, most is fresh from outside.

When my husband was very vulnerable and bedridden, prone to catch illness from others, every single time people flew in to visit him, he got very sick the next day. To their annoyance I started making them change their clothes and shower before greeting him and he stopped getting sick from the visits.
