Whoever wrote this is insane and has no idea that they are. Projecting their hatred and contradictory beliefs on people that felt like doing something nice for someone they did not know.

Imagine living in a world this author believes they live in? Always in fear and full of hate.

I've lived in that world. It's every big city. That's why Jefferson called them "pestilential to the morals, the health and the liberties of man". Nobody is looking out for each other because they're too busy looking out for themselves, and so paranoid that they assume every act of kindness is an angle - because it probably is. The masks may be new, but they've been "social distancing" their whole lives.
