The (unintentionally) funny part of the movie: the Chinese appear to have sent one guy (or at the least, only a handful of people) to straighten out a failed mining operation/road project that has been destroyed/looted/vandalized by sloth, corruption, and feral Congo natives. The only way they get out of it in one piece: the colonized don't have guns. They think they could roll over the armed jogger-and-migrant populace in the failing DNC Strongholds just as easily. They are wrong.
You can feel bad for the guy but those Congolese know what the Chinese and everyone else is up to in those countries. When the gifts of modern thought and innovation were delivered to them by the Belgian colonizers, the natives just ignored, wrecked or stole it all. The foreman (as most people would be) is speechless at seeing a paved road with power-lines, railroad tracks, and other ruins of the former mining attempt all ruined from neglect and looting/vandalism.
This is not totally their fault, many of the remote Congo villagers/bush-people have no way to be aware of modern technology- many don't even have proper electricity, much less teh internets. Wind is only feasible if you do it small scale. A couple small turbines on poles in your backyard to power just your house.
Solar is slightly better, but the technology isn't there yet. Too much energy is still lost to heat and reflection.
