1. This law runs counter to freedoms expressed in US Constitution:
a. The Constitution does not allow the government to restrict freedoms of law-abiding US citizens, unless they are imprisoned through a court of law.
b. See 14th amendment:
“No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
c. When government laws run counter to the Constitution, the Constitution supersedes them, and nullifies them.
“A law repugnant to the Constitution is void” Marbury v. Madison, 1803
2. This law is not accepted by the majority of We the People:
a. Most surveys will show this, in my own county 70% voted against a new mask mandate but the city council did it “for our safety”
b. Founding fathers were against this very thing:
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety” - Ben Franklin
c. The founding fathers had a far more serious pandemic going on at the time of the American Revolution called Smallpox, and there were no mask mandates then restricting people's freedoms.
But muh plague!
