I have been active duty Army or an Army civi since 1985. This just isn't true. Within the ranks, 99.99% of everyone enlisted and commissioned will uphold their oath to protect and defend the constitution. That's literally our job. Given the opportunity to follow orders that are against the constitution will result in some pretty bad results to those issuing those orders. What we are seeing now is politicians that are subverting the constitution and it hasn't gotten into the ranks yet. When it does there will be hell to pay.
Thanks for your Service. I pray you are correct, back in the 70s when I was In that was not true, we had the Draft and race issues and anti-war issues and Nixon left a bad taste but then Carter fooked it all up. Learned then that 'something' was wrong with us.
But I pray you are correct, I was in SAC and I can say most of us have tried to Honor our Oaths, and we still do. But even there we had guys who joined USAF to avoid the Draft, and when Carter granted amnesty morale went poof.
A very good friend of mine did just that, he kept saying that if he had just gone to Canada like others did he would be home Free already.

Thank you for your service as well. That was a different time and it was not an all volunteer force as it is today. When I enlisted in 85 there were still quite a few that had come in under the draft and they were a different breed of people. Not good or bad different, just different than it is today.
