You underestimate the restrictiveness of Fox News contracts (and I'm not suggesting they're more restrictive than other cable news outlets' contracts).
I don't know if he did an interview on OAN, but on-air personalities from TV news and other kinds of shows normally have to get permission from the company they're under contract with, to do any appearances with other media outlets.

Didn't he already do an interview with OAN? I doubt his contract says he's never allowed to speak on camera as a civilian again.
