This sounds weird, but we have no idea how viruses work, or why they even exist (same can be said for biology and botany, but viruses are even weirder than life-cycle organisms).
There is literally zero consensus on anything at all virus-related. The cold virus-suite still has not been isolated, nobody anywhere even knows how it infects the body, or why it causes symptoms.
It's literally filled w quacks and charlatans who have written papers that 1,000s of other "virologists" then write papers about to dispute.
It's the wild wild west out there, it's a zero scientifically-based endeavour, yet you'd never know that from reading newspapers, going to school, or watching TV
