Being totally serious right now I went for almost thirty years before I learned how important it is to breathe through your nose. I didn't breathe through my mouth exclusively, but I just never thought about it much. But then I learned about how the way you breathe can affect your asthma, and I had really bad asthma, so I made a conscious effort to breathe through my nose whenever possible, especially when I sleep. Since then I have needed zero medication for my asthma, which disappeared almost overnight. If you know anyone who struggles with asthma, talk to them about breathing through their nose, and slowing down their breathing. Look up Buteyko Method for more info. I share this whenever I get a chance because it can be life changing. We joke about mouth breathers but mouth breathing is SERIOUSLY detrimental to your health, and I really think Big Pharma/Medicine don't want this to be generally known. You can ELIMINATE asthma symptoms if you learn how to breathe properly. Tell a friend to tell a friend. This should be common knowledge but it isn't.

some are born with a defect that prevents them from breathing with their nose.
