I would have asked them if they are investigating a crime that has taken place. Since they aren't, I would ask them if they are trying to entrap me. When they deny it, I would say that because they are liberals, they are therefore engaging in political intimidation, also known as terrorism. I would then refuse to say anything more on the grounds that cooperating with terrorists is a crime.
