Newsflash: You cannot hold a trial without a judge presiding over the proceedings. The U.S. Constitution very clearly specifies that the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS must preside over an impeachment trial of the U.S. President (not a former one). Roberts has refused to preside, meaning whatever happens this week won't be anything more than a censure of a private citizen, with no legally binding consequences absent a judge. Basically, it is a bitchfest without a judge, not a trial, and carries no weight. Trump's attorneys should show up, make a statement that they observe no judge to preside over the proceedings, and leave.
