No I don't think they are worth anything, in any meaningful sense. I mean we might keep track of the points we've earned for fun, and if we look to see how many points someone else has earned it can tell us something about their level of engagement with the site. But its not about the TOTAL points, or wanting to rack up as many points as we can. It's just that one upvote from the OP that says "hey thanks for reading my post and commenting". That's all.
