There's no precedent for convicting a private citizen on impeachment. It exists as a method to remove someone from office for high crimes and misdemeanors.

There is precedent though. A private citizen and former judge was impeached back in like the 1870s

Actually that's not true and if you read the 78 page brief, they cover it.

That dude wasn't impeached. He was PROSECTUED for bribery. And he was a Senator, not a president.

William Belknap, he was Secretary of War, not a judge thats my bad. He got caught taking kickbacks, resigned and got impeached anyway. Its precedent. Like I said, not that it matters because they afforded Trump no due process, and that itself is unconstitutional.

Arguing this is letting democrats control the narrative. It needs to be about the swaths of voter fraud, the cabal who engaged in conspiracy, and Trump's peaceful rhetoric.

William Belknap? The Senate acquitted him, in part because it's unconstitutional to impeach a private citizen.

He was impeached and tried though, which serves as their precedent for impeaching a private citizen. The fineprint like he was acquitted because its unconstitutional to impeach a private citizen doesnt matter to these people.

But go ahead, play their game despite them not having the votes to convict. Give them their soundbytes and Twitter clips. Let them control the narrative instead of giving people a voice like what should have happened on January 6th in congress. Dont show them the BLM/Antifa people changing into MAGA gear and trying to get people to destroy stuff and burn down the capitol. Or the guy waving the Confederate flag in the capitol who was a registered democrat who didnt even vote. Dont show them the police standing down, guiding people inside and opening barriers, let them paint sicknick (a trump supporter) as being dead because of Trump and jot because he had a prior health condition unrelated to the protest.

I really dont understand the strategy here.

And they still call the Logan Act an outdated, bizarre, specific, unrepeatable under today's times. . . . .. . but then want to use a 1870's case with no real similarities to compare and use as president.

Rino's always entertaining this ridiculous bullshit is what got us here.

Are they using it, or is this traitor among us using it?
