"We will not be intimidated by the American people," to me sounds a lot like the end of the nation. As politicians, you are supposed to be intimidated by the American people. This is why 2A exists. Our politicians should always, first and foremost, be moved by the needs and wants of their constituents. When they are not, it is not because the needs and wants of their constituents are less compelling than they once were, but rather because it is more profitable to pay heed to the needs and wants of other, more wealthy clientele.
