People do business with China because they are the only ones competing in lower and middle tier price segments. American companies don't make many of these products at all, and those that do, sell only very expensive ag/industrial grade products. Buying such products for a non-professional is a good way to ruin yourself financially.
As Trump said, he sells made in China products because the politicians have set up trade deals where refusing to do business or buy China means you don't intend to be competitive with other businesses. You can't stay in business or be financially solvent like that. Rather than this idiotic boycott approach, take the country back and put on a trade embargo against China. Or, push for pro USA trade policies like Trump was enacting (but don't hold your breath). They did attack us with a bioweapon, after all. I say embargo.
"they are the only ones competing in lower and middle tier price segments."
Really no offense meant but this is not entirely true. Just hop on Alibaba and you'll find many countries competing on price. I've always been able to find a manufacturing alternative.
Even Bannon did an interview with a Chinese dissident recently and she strongly promoted the boycott as being the most effect thing every day Americans can do. She says we do that and the CCP falls.
So why not do all of the above?
india is getting interesting for sure...
