It's just advertisement for businesses and individuals in parallel economies. Used to be that when you were canceled and doors started closing, that was it. Now being canceled can be just as much of a blessing as it is a curse depending on where you live, of course. I mean, if you get canceled in Portland then your business will definitely suffer and you'll have to move. But if you're canceled and live in say, houston, your business will thrive.

I honestly think cancel culture was created by big businesses to take care of competition with minimal effort and without getting too much dirt on their hands, but like your post implies... it is beginning to backfire on them.
There's a new thing we're going to have to keep on the look out for; facetious people who do not have our best interests at heart who got canceled and use the cancellation as a way to snake their way into our good graces. It's going to start happening if it hasn't already been happening.
To hell with RINOs
