Environmentalists aren't really concerned about the environment. Their real agenda is to roll back the industrial revolution so that we all live like serfs under the New Feudal Lords graduating from Harvard and Princeton.

Some bureaucratic official from Masschusetts said as much:

I know one thing that we found in our analysis is that 60% of our emissions come from – as I have it started to say you and me, except you guys are in Vermont – 60% of our emissions come from residential heating and passenger vehicles. Let me say that again …60% of our emissions that need to be reduced come from you, the person on your street, the senior on fixed-income. Right now there is no bad guy left, at least in Massachusetts, to point the finger at and turn the screws on and no break their will so they stop emitting. That’s you . We have to break your will.

These a$$hats haven't even come even remotely close to proving carbon is even a problem for a planet full of CARBON BASED LIFE FORMS.

They also haven't explained why a warmer climate is a bad thing, considering that most of the major advances in civilization have occurred during periods of warmer climate (Roman age, Renaissance, Industrial Revolution) and have gone backwards during colder periods.

It makes me sick when I see Republicans and business leaders going up these fundamental points without even fighting the "settled science".

Bunch of squishes.

All I know is that c02 interacts with radiation exiting back into space and it's this interaction which generates the heat. Everything else, such as flooded cities and runaway greenhouse, is just computer modelling. Like all that COVID bullshit.

Most of the alarmism doesn't even come from scientists it comes from those popular "science" magazines and websites that torture data to push a political agenda.

8
War_Hamster 8 points ago +8 / -0

I think what you are seeing is what happens when the funding for science is controlled by political interests. The money flows to whomever produces a study with the "right results".

4
D0NNIE_DARK0 4 points ago +4 / -0

Which is sad because if the issue is legitimate, other explanations need to be researched and examined with equitable funding.

5
War_Hamster 5 points ago +5 / -0

It's a gigantic issue for all of research in all fields. Science has sold its soul.

More specifically, the scientists willing to sell their own souls have been given the grants and a platform from which to spout their nonsense (Hi Dr. Fauci), as long as they further the Globalist Agenda.

4
D0NNIE_DARK0 4 points ago +4 / -0

They are having the same problem mainline churches had. Push out enough of the older, rational, people who just want to do their jobs and bring in the young unwashed useful idiots. The vocal minority seizes the levers of power because that’s all they cared about and everyone else tries to not rock the boat.

4
War_Hamster 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes, our society got spoiled and fell asleep at the wheel while the tires were stolen Chevy Chase style.

2
SomeRandomGuy77 2 points ago +2 / -0

A teenager made a robot that'll clear pastics out the water for next to no cost. When you say "Science has sold it's soul" you're implying science is a thing that belongs to them.

The best science ever happened in someone's back garage, what happened was parents let kids play videogames all day rather than playing with jumper cables and soldering irons. If science was sold out by anyone, it was us.

Think it was Eric Weinstein had a bit about CO2, he said the atmosphere here is like a fish tank with 250,000 fish in it. We're meant to believe that if we add one more fish into the tank the world will end.

Pepe1776_ 12 points ago +13 / -1

Let's start our own environmental movement with solutions based on innovation and free enterprise.

Carbon Capture and Storage and nuclear power are good examples of this. Even if their doomsday warnings are true we hardly need their draconian "solutions."

22
War_Hamster 22 points ago +22 / -0

Before we do that, can we please discuss whether carbon actually needs to be reduced in the first place?

17
Cesare_Borgia 17 points ago +17 / -0

Considering carbon dioxide levels are lower than they have been historically on Earth I think this is a fair question.

What I find fucking hilarious is the left still honestly thinks the average lefty will be allowed to live in any of the Utopian smart/green cities the elite have planned. We will all be living in hovels outside their walls cooking with their sewage laden water and we will be told we should be grateful for even being allowed that.

2
SomeRandomGuy77 2 points ago +2 / -0

They don't honestly believe in it, they honestly believe they're losers and want any system that brings winners down to their level. That's all it has ever been. Leftists hate fine sculpture, art, music, engineering, they hate people being in a wondrous state, because so long as people have dreams and ambitions there's a risk they'll be left behind with no one but themselves, and that terrifies them.

For me this time is a spiritual awakening. Keep faith in yourself and god, I’ve lost everything but realized Not only can I live without it, I’m better off without it. The truth is there’s very little I can control in this world. All I have is God, confidence in myself, my belief in who the fuck I am and who I want to be. Don’t let this shit get you down inside. Nothing 5 years ago is the same as today. We’ll get past this.

I'm sure China will invest in/build a pipeline to get that oil to market.

6
operatorstorm712 6 points ago +6 / -0

They did want Canada to build them a pipeline to a western port. Or find a way to ship it there. Notice I said that Canada would have to build/ship it for them, but I'm guessing that will go through now that President-select has slammed the door on that pipeline.

It's never EVER been about saving the environment.

Increasing millions of illegal immigrants and "refugees" into California is an ecological disaster for them as they can't provide water needs for their existing citizens, let alone housing or even POWER.

And yet - they keep increasing the numbers.

Does that sound like a group that wants to save the environment or is more interested in power?

You just need to look at the global temps over the last couple hundred thousand years.

The little ice age is over and were at or very near the warming peak and it should start dropping back down into another era of cooling.

They have faith in their religion though that 'the end is nigh'.

Somehow being the crazy person on the street yelling about the end of days has become popular.

2
MightyEighth 2 points ago +2 / -0

This! Look back in the 1700’s around the little ice age and right before you’ll see high temps and patterns not unlike our current ones. We were always being played about global warming.

5
Bucktooth34 5 points ago +5 / -0

Democrats can never think beyond step 1; as long as it "feels good".

5
Red-in-Tooth 5 points ago +5 / -0

This is just one of those reasons why conservationists cannot stand environmentalists.

5
DarkErminia 5 points ago +5 / -0

They don't really care about the environment. They care about what feels good. Both fracking and pipelines create pollution at first glance but reduce pollution when used to replace traditional oil or coal. That, and the fact that none of them seem to support nuclear for some retarded reason proves to me they care about the virtue signaling more than the science.

4
Wordlife187 4 points ago +4 / -0

Which is the point. Stop what will lower carbon emissions so then they can say we need extremes to deal with it. All power plays.

3
ProudWhiteMan 3 points ago +3 / -0

Good got to increase emissions so they can then pretend to lower it because of the Paris accord.

3
SaltyBobCat 3 points ago +3 / -0

But nuclear power's fine? Mining precious materials to make batteries for electric cars and solar panels is fine also right? Or all the wildlife killed by the giant fucking windmills that's fine too? We have to have power that's how the world of the future is run we just have to pick the poison that's going to make that happen.

3
E-dantes 3 points ago +3 / -0

That's the idea. Get back into the climate treaty with the e u. And china. Fail at meeting the standards. Pay heavy fine. Get kickbacks to friends and family. Friends and family also get contracts to tell american companies how they can fix their problems. Businesses, like those owned by Warren buffet get government funding to implement fixes. Nothing works the way it should. Start again at step 2.

3
sustainable_saltmine 3 points ago +3 / -0

Nah you guys don't get it. They want the pipeline gone and nothing to replace it. No trucks or trains to transport the oil. They don't want the oil here period. They either want us dependent again on foreign oil or force us to rely on sar and wind. Its all about trying to start the eventual ban of fossil fuels

3
TTrain2020vision 3 points ago +3 / -0

Warren Buffet is in charge of the keystone pipeline too he owns the trains that transport the oil. So he will lose billions once the pipeline is installed.

3
HuggaMaga 3 points ago +3 / -0

The thing that absolutely kills me is that map of all the gas pipelines throughout the country. If you can look at that and say the Keystone pipeline is anything but political you are a complete liar.

3
TheTudes 3 points ago +3 / -0

It’s political not environmental.

3
DonttrustChina 3 points ago +3 / -0

But it'll make Warren Buffet money, which is the real point.

3
operatorstorm712 3 points ago +3 / -0

But Warren Buffet gets his money, so winning! And now there's a good excuse to jack up all the prices on shit -- more winning!

2
james43552352345 2 points ago +2 / -0

I've read into this quite a bit. The irony is that the government doesn't actually need to do anything to "curb emissions" because of the natural progression of technology. Stuff like renewable energy technology, electric cars, batteries and so on get better and better so eventually we will transition to these technologies since electric cars are more efficient than ICE cars. So literally, just let the free market do its thing.

For the vast majority of the people all we care about is cheap energy. We don't care where it comes from. The problem is the government is forcing renewable energy too soon so the end result is everyone's cost of living goes up by 3x.

If scientists and people are concerned about global warming then literally the best thing they can do is just plant trees and environmental restoration. That's stuff people can do on their own. We don't need the government artificially manipulating what people buy.

2
My2Cents 2 points ago +2 / -0

Warren Buffet's rail lines will profit, as will Dem campaign coffers.

Always consider cui bono.

I'm no expert, but Keystone looked mostly like a scheme to get Canadian oil to US ports to ship overseas. Might create a few jobs for a while, but mostly benefit to globalist oligarchs. Mostly, North Americans get all the goodness of processing and transporting filthy Canadian tar sands.

2
RealRedneck 2 points ago +2 / -0

2
lurker10001111 2 points ago +2 / -0

2
Racerspuff 2 points ago +2 / -0

My earlier post appears to not be here anymore...

Anyway, I think there is some fuzzy logic here that doesn't really work out.
*433 gallons of locomotive diesel fuel to pull one loaded crude oil tank car from Canada to the gulf.
*144 to bring it back empty.

The article then goes on to say (well they quote someone) that it takes 645 tank cars per day to carry the amount the pipeline could. So 235,425 tank cars loads per year. Then they multiply that by 577.

Thats great, except they aren't pulling one tank car at a time, they are pulling a huge string of them. The gallons of diesel per tank car is going to go down the more you add (to some point, and then it would go back up, I'm sure its optimized).

So while its way worse than the pipeline, its not as bad as the article says.

Keystone was a way for Canada to bypass the us to get oil on ships for export. We already have a nation wide distribution pipeline for Canadian oil going to us. At least truckers and rail workers will make money Now. Pipeline jobs die when it's complete. If Canada had to pay the usa per gallon a tax for using the pipeline it still would only benefit the government. Also those workers voted for biden Because the unions told them to so they got what they voted for.

4
Wordlife187 4 points ago +5 / -1

Completely wrong there pede. Most of the oil would be going to the US. Nebraska and Missouri were the two main places it would go. Why would Canada need to bypass the US to get oil onto ships? They have the Pacofic on one side and the Atlantic on the other. They could have just shipped it to one of their own coasts and sent it out. I also know MANY of these workers who didn't vote for Xiden. It's always the leadership paying for commercials and ads saying they support Xiden but when you ask the workers, it's about a 25/75 split in favor of Trump. Stop castigating our fellow pipeline Pedes as Xiden supporters. That's the same as the left calling all whites "white supremacists" when in reality, it's a small fraction.

1
Nowanoutlaw 1 point ago +3 / -2

The xl has one leg going to midwest the other going to Texas coast where most of the us exports of oil originate. Back when it was first proposed it only had the leg going to Texas after tons of opposition they added the midwest leg. I've been watching it since its inception. If you remember at the same time they wanted to build a hiway thru America from Canada to Mexico that would be free from dot regulations. I use to get loads from central IL to Canada hauling the separation balls they use in pipelines to change the type of fuel bieng pumped thru them. We already have more than adequate pipelines In service to supply America with Canada's oil. With hundreds of refinerys already scattered throughout the us why would we need to send it to Texas to be refined. There are in my area over 100 refinerys alone. I'm in st louis area. Worked in fuel distribution and refinery supply for years. I don't like biden but I won't let myself get biden derangement syndrome. I will weigh the facts on every subject before judgment. Why does everyone not see that some policies no matter who endorses them are not good for Americans. We were energy independent but oil companies saw more profit in exporting Our oil than matching production with demand. Look up us oil exporting numbers and see the truth of the matter. Why would or should we export oil to just import it. Its just a scam to keep you paying more for your fuel. Why this last summer when oil reached record lows did gas stay around 2 dollars a gallon when crude prices were lower than the 1960's

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
2
Nowanoutlaw 2 points ago +2 / -0

Canada already has pipelines to there coast for that. Exports from Texas go to South America and to Europe. The rail supply and maintenance industry is huge and the products it uses are made in the USA. If keystone wants to drop the Texas leg then I'm all for it. Branch off at midwest to central west and central east and I will be glad to fight for it to continue. But that will never happen.

2
Nowanoutlaw 2 points ago +2 / -0

Let me put it to you a different way. Biden is pissing off Canada who already has distribution networks in America while ramping up tensions in oil producing countries so when they retaliate he can impose tarrifs on their oil Making burisma a cheaper alternative. Who has children working on burismas oil companies boards? Thats right if you guessed democrats. When the right people are willing to offer them more money the xl will be back on. And most likely they will say that cost due to delays will make the midwest leg to expensive. Its all a game to enrich themselves at our expense.

Watched some National Geographic show on Grand Canyon last night....they show a Navajo town they look like all living in shacks dirt road as far as eye can see.

No industry .... the only export is victim hood.

Some developers want to build a tram there that goes down into gorge. Would create 1000s of jobs, hotels restaurants but oh no MUH sacred land.

Fine whatever....

Then they focus on developers all evil whitey folks but the show doesn't talk about the tribe chiefs that are allowing this to even be on the table because they are the ones rich a f.

Endless Narrative ... so what have we learned folks?

One day if the globalist get their way and the dust settles...they will be the ones back in the castles with power and lavish lifestyle. We will be the ones begging outside the courtyard at the gates with nothing.

It's all happening in front of our faces. It's funny when you watch endless shows on "What happened to the Roman Empire"!!!! The fall of Rome!

I wonder if they will be playing in a few hundred years....What happened to America?!!! An in-depth look at how laziness destroyed a nation.

This is what they blame on the fall or Rome.

This made me laugh my ass off, because I figured that at least in the Democrat worldview there is SOME kind of logic to shutting down Keystone pipeline, in that a higher oil delivery cost will lead to a higher price and less usage so less CO2 output. But this post made me realize that TRAINS USE FUEL. Train usage costs money because YOURE PAYING FOR FUEL. So you're delivering the fuel less efficiently BY BURNING MORE FUEL.

I swear to God, these lefties are fuckin retarded, and it's pretty clear at this point that they just want to squash other sectors of the economy.
