I think we know legality doesn’t matter anymore if it stands in the way of power grabs. There’s an incremental elite power seizure going on, and the democrats are the path of least resistance to that. (And the republicans can’t do much even when they want to because they know they will get targeted in ways that voters can’t prevent.)
