What we need is separation. The left are parasites. They're decadence and laziness incarnate. They're the personification of entropy, rot and erosion. The leech-host bit is SPOT ON
I've spent a lot of time thinking about this metaphor.
They're a monstrous parasite that embeds itself in the host and slowly bleeds us out.
If the host tries to pull it out, it starts shrieking and fighting back and inflicting as much pain as possible, so we'll stop pulling on it.
Then once we give in and let go, it settles back down, nice and peaceful, and continues slowly and quietly killing us.
But the painful yanking-it-out has to be done as soon as possible, or else it'll just be harder and more painful later.
