I think it's way worse than that. Mike Pompeo said that the Chinese have infiltrated and corrupted politicians in DC. Same likely true at the state level. I suspect CCP or its cronies in USA have extortion material on Boyer (and hundreds of other politicians). Somebody posted on TDW that the Chinese have peoples' computers and can control laptop cameras. Suppose Boyer was threatened with a recording of him doing embarrassing stuff and/or viewing bad (or illegal) websites. Would be enough to change his vote to keep his marriage, kids, career, and stay out of prison.
