Listening to the bogus impeachment hearing, and I'm about ready to throw up with all these democrats claiming they have constitutional authority to pursue this impeachment. NOW the Constitution matters? Why didn't the Constitution matter when Pennsylvania changed their voting procedures in a matter that violated the Constitution? I'm so sick of this "selective Constitutional interpretation" culture of Congress. YOU TOOK AN OATH TO UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION!!! That means ALWAYS, not just when it's convenient!

They DON'T have constitutional authority.
The point of a trial is to convict and get those injured relief.
The constitution CLEARLY states that the only repercussion for impeachment is to remove that individual from office. You cannot remove someone from an office they don't hold and you can't just rewind time. There is no relief that can be granted even if convicted. That's just ONE issue with this.
The second is you cannot impeach someone not in office, due to the relief argument above.
The third issue is that this trial is not being overseen by the chief justice as mandated and it's not even being presided over a judge at all, but a Senator. Which violates due process and nullifies this trial. No judge, no trial, no conviction, no relief.
This whole thing is unconstitutional on multiple levels and frankly, is insulting to the American people and everything we're supposed to stand for. Freedom, Justice, Liberty. Every one of those things is being violated. By those that are supposed to be the voice of the people and those that are paid by the people.
There seriously needs to be a way to file civil suits against lawmakers INDIVIDUALLY and in their private capacity as they're clearly acting in their private capacity by spouting off at shit like this. They're not doing their job. Which is to be the voice of those they represent and not themselves and their own interests/vendetta's.
