Interesting... never heard about that hit piece. When it came out within the past couple months that he was an informant, it seemed to me like that was news to most people on the right... but maybe not.
With the Proud Boys, supposedly the head guy (forgetting his name right now) was an informant from a long time ago, but no longer is, he says.
With Oath Keepers, as the other poster just wrote, the guy was retired FBI & perhaps he despised the gov’t.
But this is the problem, right? Too often there’s no way to know for sure, so we’re left to just distrust gov’t in general, and that leads to at least some level of distrust in anyone previously associated with the gov’t.
But I’d definitely rather distrust and be prepared for anything than to trust blindly & end up screwed. These days, I feel screwed. But at least I saw it coming & didn’t have to also deal with being shocked by the public screwing.
I don’t know. Something’s gotta give. The level of corruption is devastating this country.
I mean...isn’t that the whole deal with the oathkeepers? They all took a legitimate oath to the constitution/now they’re private citizens who intend to keep it?
Thanks for pointing out something I really should’ve already known. Appreciate it.
ABOUT OATH KEEPERS, according to OathKeepers.org:
Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of current and formerly serving military, police, and first responders, who pledge to fulfill the oath all military and police take to “defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”
That oath, mandated by Article VI of the Constitution itself, is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and Oath Keepers declare that they will not obey unconstitutional orders, such as orders to disarm the American people, to conduct warrantless searches, or to detain Americans as “enemy combatants” in violation of their ancient right to jury trial.
ABOUT OATH KEEPERS, according to Wikipedia, which is extremely biased & that fact should always be mentioned:
Oath Keepers is a far-right anti-government militia organization composed of current and former military, police, and first responders who pledge to fulfill the oath that all military and police take in order to "defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” It encourages its members to not obey orders which they believe would violate the U.S. Constitution.
Several organizations that monitor domestic terrorism and hate groups describe it as extremist or radical. The FBI describes the Oath Keepers as a “paramilitary organization” and a “large but loosely organized collection of militia who believe that the federal government has been coopted by a shadowy conspiracy that is trying to strip American citizens of their rights.”
I had the impression it was a pro-2nd Amendment group. If it’s a group made up of now-private citizens who intend to keep their oath, I was somehow totally unaware of that. Maybe you’re right - interesting... I’m going to look into it now.
Yea, the “keep their oath” thing is what I remember reading a long time ago back when some were trying to protect Ferguson, so they would be the first group you’d expect to try to do something or the other if they thought the govt was totally unconstitutional.
And that also makes them one of the most readily available groups to turn into useful idiots especially if they’ve been under surveillance and been infiltrated for a long time.
I very much doubt they couldn’t have been completely stopped ahead of time just like the “wolverine watchmen”. This was intentionally allowed to happen, both to create a Reichstag Fire and to make them easier to prosecute.
Seems like they’re always setting people up, so I understand why you think so. What I don’t understand is why the FBI always gets away with doing that shit when it’s often entrapment. Really disgusts me. I think Tom Fitton had it right a couple years ago when he was advocating for the entire FBI to just be shut down. He believes it can’t be fixed & lately I agree.
It seems to me like there’s a real group here, but their actions don’t make any sense especially for someone with this much FBI experience who should understand systems better.
Why exactly would they want to interrupt the presentation of election fraud evidence and ensure that additional auditing would never happen? Why would they want to do something ineffective that they should know would be treated as a Reichstag Fire?
So either the leader was actually an undercover infiltrator, or he was intentionally fed some sort of deliberately misleading fake “intel” to make him think that they were going to accomplish something worthwhile to them that was actually a fake lure.
And if they thought they were really on some sort of “spec ops” mission or something here, like seize evidence or kill someone, shouldn’t they have brought some real weapons?
I mean this whole thing makes no sense. Seems like they were turned into useful idiots by being fed false “intel” of some sort at the very least using some sort of fake “prize” that didn’t exist. (Sort of like telling some armed robbers that there’s a secret house full of massive drug money then ambushing them when they try to rob it, but more elaborate.)
Would be nice if just once in awhile something shady or corrupt could happen WITHOUT the FBI somehow being involved.
Maybe, doubtful, he was retired FBI and probably hated the govt.
Useful idiot most likely imo
So are Oath Keepers and Proud Boys a product of the FBI? Top people in both organizations are linked to them

Lmao, the FBI just said the word “based,” is a white supremacist term in some affidavit also. The FBI is the gestapo.

Honestly I haven’t looked into it. That’s just the impression I have for whatever reason, and I can’t even pinpoint where I picked it up.

Set up.

All good, solid points.
