That's why you do it a couple of feet inside the State, beyond the Federal limits.
Then it's just a State walls, and totes not a Federal border.

States are allowed to have walls, they're just not allowed to regulate inter state traffic.
Doesn't mean they have to make it easy for people to come in and out.

Do a moat, with lava and shit.

For maximum legal lulz they could set up their own Texas Border Checkpoint and accept people through with the paperwork they deem proper (work arrangements, trade, etc). If they never entered the country through a legal checkpoint, who is to stop Texas from letting them into their state?

Technically no, States cannot prevent people from other States from going from one State to the other, or manage the Country's border.
On the other hand, if there's a bunch of walls, that are open at each end, altenating, meaning you have to WALK about five time to whole border to get in, then technically, technically, it's not illegal.

And seeing as how the democrats fucks are pieces of shit that don't give any shit about the law, I say do a lava moat, and let them try and remove it.

Also maybe landmines or something. Like "opps, we dropped mines around the border we don't know where, XD"

If Texas has a right to secede, do they have a right to lesser measures?

You can get around that by being asked to provide any of the 50 states identification cards, birth certificate, name/DOB/SSN, Driver's License that will then be checked in the national database. If your name doesn't come up and you can't provide valid identification indicating you're a resident of any of the 50 states, then you will be detained and the FBI will have 24 hours to pick you up and get you out of the state. If they don't pick you up, you'll be deported into Mexico. If you come back, you'll be considered an enemy combatant unable to determine your nationality and will be fired upon.

Let a couple dozen of them shot and they'll stop coming.

It's not a federal border. It's a state border that shares a border with a foreign country.

And if I remember right, the stretch that isn't finished is owned by a rancher. So it's private property and the state can purchase that strip of land and finish the wall out and since it's state land, they can enforce whatever they want. If a foreign national steps foot on state land, that can be considered aggressive action by an enemy combatant. States of sovereign.

Yeah, the feds had a tough time building any federal border wall during Trump's presidency in Texas because of how much of the land along the border is private property.

Seems like the state could offer them up lots of money to let them build a wall, especially once their land starts getting flooded.
