IIRC Hispanics largely dislike that term, which makes the guilty white "oppressors" usage of it even more ironic.

In Argentina we have a subset of the population (small but loud) who are trying to force our articles into gender neutral. Instead of 'el senador' (the senator) or 'la bibliotecaria' (the librarian) being male and female respectively, they want us to write them as 'le senader' and 'le bibliotecarie' all the while we have an inflation in our currency of 3.7% solely on the month of January because leftist goverments have their priorities set to nuclear winter.
