Well, this approach is dumb and will not have the desired effect. You still have to pay your property taxes for the fields unless you want to loose your land. The issue with food commodities is, that the higher the supply, the lower the price. Less harvest, higher price, same income. People in the country and subburbs can grow their own gardens, the full city slickers can't. Conservatives need to embrace conservation. Make a soil conservation rule that limits fertilizer use. Yields will go down, higher crop prices, the soil will be able to improve and surface water will wash less nitrogen into our drinking water supplies (which we need to remove using costly chemicals). Higher prices and less supply for China. Higher crop prices coupled with using more heritage breeds, allow to offer higher quality and less quantity. China will have to pay more for pork. Rural areas can produce their own bio-gas for electric and heating. And we can do all of this while capturing the lefts environmental slogans to protect this and that.

Many good long term plans, I will give you that. I still believe siege warfare is the most sure way to root out Leftists and disrupt their agenda. Also you may be right about property taxes but American farmers have up to three years to do absolutely nothing and still get paid just for being farmers.
