The picture is how I imagine people who are still looking for democratic solutions in a non-democratic system.

History has shown us many times that -in the absence of irresistable external pressure- the only way a nation transitions from non-democratic to democratic is through extreme violence. Of course, many prefer to hug the delusive phantom of hope that there is a peaceful solution, because it is easier on the ego than admitting that they have meekly accepted subjugation.
