It's so easy to defend him. All they have to say is that Trump never called for violence.

It doesn't matter.

Nothing anybody says will make any difference. Everybody knew how they were going to vote before the article was walked over from the House. They knew weeks ago (assuming nobody had been bribed/extorted into it recently). Everything we're seeing it just a dog and pony show for the masses. Dems have taken what should have been a serious proceeding and made a mockery of it for rank partisan politics. We will not forget.

It's not even a real court proceeding. He should just get a speechwriter and a mock trial teacher to go do some political theater on his behalf.

The rules there are that there are no true rules.

Why does he keep getting snakes in his garden? Maybe he's trying to lose so that he doesn't need to run again.

eh this was only arguing based on constitutionality of it now the actual impeachment. However the problem with the precedent they just set would cause major problems for them if it weren't for the fact that establishment republicans only know how to lose to the democrats as we further lurch leftwards as a nation. Like really

I have a lawyer working for me...I guess. He's literally worse than not having one. I just have to get around to firing him.

Sez you, a famous legal expert intimately familiar with Trump's instructions.
