I’ve always believed that the only masks that might work are the n95 masks but that accounts for probably 5 percent of all the masks worn on a daily bases. All other face coverings, used day after day cause the cases to go up by providing an optimal breeding environment for viruses. Imagine a damp, dirty Petri dish pushed into your face all day long. If we had stayed apart, wore a respirator or a proper mask the cases would have fallen. Long story short, masks have caused all this, not helped.
N95 masks don’t work either. It says so right on the package. They stop smaller particles than cloth masks, but still can’t stop something as small as a virus.
N95 works. That's what we wore at the hospital at first. I never got sick at least. I know co-workers who got anti-body tested and they came back negative so I know they work.
A N95 mask (considered a much higher and more reliable mask) is only assured to filter 95% of contaminants above 300 Micrometers, ( or 300,000 Nanometers), and nothing below 300,000 Nano meters.
Did you know that the size of the Influenza virus ( A,B, and C ) ranges in diameter from 80-120 Nanometers?
(Nanometer is one billionth of a meter)
More importantly, the Covid-19 virus is at max, 130 Nanometers in diameter.
Expelled liquid droplet from respiration is on the order of only 5000 Nanometers.
All of these viruses /molecules sizes are EXTREMELY FAR BELOW the filtration threshold of a freshly opened, never used N95 mask, which most people are not even wearing.
If people are really worried about getting sick, they should be giving their immune systems / bodies what it needs, (Vitamin D, C, Zinc, Selenium... just to name a few), and exercise.
I totally agree with you about the facts of the N95 blocking only up to a certain size particle. Maybe it blocks the particles the virus travels on. Trust me when I tell you I have been on the front lines of this and I have tried to do my homework and tried to pay attention to patterns and anomalies since this thing started. I noticed the lack of influenza MONTHS ago and mentioned it to co-workers, I knew there was some fuckery going on but a lot of them would say well it's kind of early for flu season or make up excuses.
When it first started all we were given were N95 masks, gloves and gowns. I worked in rooms, sometimes very small rooms with a patient who I was told had Covid-19. Sometimes I would spend up to an hour in that room while they would talk and cough and not even cover their mouth when they did it. I have not gotten sick for whatever reason. Maybe I am lucky or maybe I did get it and I never knew and I am arguing that N95 masks work for false reasons, but a lot of my co-workers didn't get it and they had the same equipment I had. There have been a few instances when I didn't have my equipment and had to take care of a patient in an emergency and one time I had my surgical mask on and went into a Covid room forgetting to switch to my respirator mask. I thought I would get it for sure a couple of those times but the weeks went by with no symptoms so it is what it is.
I am 44 and over weight but other than that I am healthy. I have been a respiratory therapist for 15 years so I have been exposed to a lot of bacteria and viruses over the years so I imagine my immune system is pretty robust. I do have co-workers who have contracted the virus but no one really knows where they got it or from whom.
I am honestly more worried of getting the virus at the store than at work thanks to the PPE.
I wish they would leave those of us that are healthy alone about the masks and get on with our lives. Promote the N95 for people who are at risk instead of 2 or 3 masks. I feel like they just want to virtue signal and control us in any way they can and I know for a fact some people are getting their kicks out of lecturing people about masks and stuff.

I respectfully disagree. I am an Engineer.

They may have some pre-existing immunity or T-cell immunity.
