But President Trump won the election in a landslide.
Your average American is probably center right. The problem is the average American has no backbone.
They think the China Virus lockdowns are as ridiculous as you and me. But they are afraid to say anything because they don't want to come off as "selfish".
Peer pressure is a bitch. Imagine being in a workplace and knowing this covid thing is bullshit, how many people are willing to anger their peers by disagreeing. We all want to be liked by others, so we get stuck in this nasty feedback loop. I don't blame the people for being pressured into going with the flow, no one wants to not be invited to lunch or mocked behind their back or worse.
Which is why few people know how I feel about Trump and covid and various other hot topics. They're so unwilling to have a meaningful discussion and treat me with respect there's nothing to gain by speaking up. It's not that I want to remain friends with said person, more like I don't want an active enemy in my neighborhood or at work, my favourite bar, etc. Places I prefer to be stress free.
Thankfully where I live most agree with me, and we don't bully people who check the mail wearing a fucking mask. We just want to be left alone, so we also leave other people alone.
Treat others like you want to be treated, whatever happened to that?
