I bet under Trump they were not able to fill their pockets like they used to before... so that's why the betrayal.. even with the new political party, how would one prevent this issue? As people can be easily corrupted.. the more broke you are the easier it is for you to accept some payment..
You'd need to be principled which is hard. And with these people it's not the need of money. It's just want. Nothing but greed and always wanting more. They saw Trump prevention of them getting all that money from their usual sources not as standing on a good principle. But as getting in their way.
