The Germans imported people from the Middle East. Unfortunately, the people brought terrorism, rape and violent crime but left all their oil back home.

sounds like a bad deal.

31
Hanging_Chad 31 points ago +36 / -5

If they consented, then is it truly rape/terrorism?

the-new-style 53 points ago +53 / -0

One phrase the right uses is "We were never asked"

but people at the time were asked, they said no and were just ignored.

Longer profile of Enoch Powell also by DoA. Everything he warned about has come true. EVERYTHING

But according to Hobbes, the Europeans consent merely by obeying their government. They signed their social contract merely by being ruled.

Checkmate libertarians.

17
TrumpWonBigly2020 17 points ago +17 / -0

We're doing the same in America. Just letting it happen.

14
sordfysh 14 points ago +14 / -0

Correct. Because the elites believe more now in the social contract theory rather than in god-given liberty.

And our managerial class believes whatever the elites believe. Drones.

8

Yes, sadly. If you dare complain or protest they screech “racist!” but the truth is simply that most people are sick of working hard to pay taxes that continue to go up.

The problem is that the politicians and propagandists that don’t experience the consequences consented on behalf of those who do.

You're right. The politicians, researchers, environmentalists, etc. who are lobbying for green energy in Germany/Europe are making a lot of money because their policies are massively increasing energy prices. I bought some ETFs for Green Energy. They performed very well despite the pandemic.

Yemen is a proxy war between KSA and Iran, between Sunni and Shiite. Convince me otherwise.

Further, Biden may kick the Saudis to the curb and favor Iran. Obama and ValJar are behind his earpiece, if you ask me.

we have nuclear, the most abundant stable zero-emissions power source available powering all our subs and super carriers just fine.

but no, dont put any money in there, lets go with the most fickle and inefficient solutions instead.

Honk HOnk !!

10
RuthBGinsburgsTumor 10 points ago +10 / -0

Not in their book. Nevermind the fact that it produces no CO2 and it literally is the safest per terawatt. Nuclear IS the answer, but they will never acknowledge it, because the whole CO2 emissions is all about control.

2
DebbieinDallas 2 points ago +2 / -0

It all goes back to the 70s and the anti-war protesters and when we were importing oil. The Bill Clinton crowd has always been a problem. Three Mile Island.

The original protest was against FOREIGN oil, that evolved to be against ALL oil. They were afraid it was going to run out. Now we have tons of it and were exporting it. But can’t have that. Greenies have always been a problem. The original head guy was growing weed in his forests and hence didnt want the trees harvested for personal reasons. This was all in the news several yrs ago.

8
fegeline 8 points ago +8 / -0

Technically not, but on the other hand you'd get massive amounts of energy for a very low amount of fuel. The fuel still needs to be mined tho and that mining plus the concrete structures is the only environmentally harmful aspect with nuclear power.

The exception would be to have socialists operate it, like we saw with Chernobyl. Or using nuclear power in areas prone to have regular earthquakes, like the Japanese do.

Europe is a very stable continent with a low amount of natural disasters or extreme weather which makes it perfect for nuclear power. But ironically the politicians want to "go green" and replace it all with wind energy, which is a total shame because Europe still has enough stored uranium to power the whole continent with nuclear power for at least 200 years ahead.

5
Liberty4All 5 points ago +5 / -0

There are newer reactor designs that are much safer - they passively cool themselves so they don't have melt downs like Chernobyl or Fukushima if the active control systems fail. The just slowly cool off.

I won't go so far as to say the newer reactor designs are "foolproof" because fools are damned ingenious. But they are much, much safer. And nuclear power plants are not dependent on the weather to operate.

4
fegeline 4 points ago +4 / -0

To be fair, Chernobyl was in fact worst case scenario, not only did the situation escalate but because of Soviet socialism they didn't bother to do much about it until plants over in western Europe reported high doses of radiation in the air and it was obvious what was going on.

Passive cooling as safety measure seems like a great way to avoid meltdowns, Europe also doesn't have flood waves or earthquakes so it shouldn't be possible to repeat the Fukushima incident either.

There's no reason to not build more nuclear power in Europe.

2
Liberty4All 2 points ago +2 / -0

Or in most of the US.

3
illidann 3 points ago +3 / -0

this. technology has advanced a lot since chernobyl.

and there are advances in nuclear fusion as well, not just fission.

the only problem with nuclear is you cant virtue signal and get elected and get your buddies rich with it.

3
Teeth21 3 points ago +3 / -0

No but it's cleaner than fossil fuels

2
Capitalism_Fuck_Yeah 2 points ago +2 / -0

90% renewable. 90% of nuclear waste is reusable. The rest is below the threshold for fission but is comprised of a bunch of highly ionized heavy elements after about 30 years you can use these elements.

jokes aside, germany will probably never ever have any big uprising against anything, because as soon as germans speak out against something the mainstream finds a connection to racism and calls the germans that are speaking up "nazis".

its literally our single hidden weakness, the "N"-word. I find myself struggling against this weapon of massdestruction as well, there is just no counterplay to it from a german perspective

2
AJoeDD 2 points ago +2 / -0

Parallels what happens in the US and UK, and probably others. Can't figure out how this simple tactic is sustainable. Anyone can find (or forge) such a link, while theoretically you could equally make links to existing political powers. On this website and alt-tech places there are probably loads of infiltrators that are purposefully distasteful and extreme to give ammunition to those who want to demonize opposition. I've heard this happening to a lot of competitors to Google services, I think pre-dating the Trump era, just as a business tactic. Like some image hosting service was gaining steam and all of a sudden someone uploads a lot of "dangerous" images and the bad press kills them.

Maybe early stages of a movement is the only time when such a tactic actually works, so establishing familiarity of the people in a movement might be the best countermeasure. Just guessing. It is a BS line of reasoning, so it may not adhere to any consistent rules.

They're at risk of having no heat during a horrible winter.

This can't be understated. Its hard to understand just how dangerous this is unless you've lived without heat (been homeless, winter camping, been very poor, lived off grid, etc)

Next time a snowstorm blows through, switch the heat and electricity off for a couple days. Its so much worse than what you'd imagine,

17
Wolfebane84 17 points ago +17 / -0

Solar power should only be used in desert environments where it will have the largest percentage of run time.

And whatever the coldest it's ever gotten in whatever area you want to put a wind turbine you make the thing rated for double that. If that makes it too expensive....

Well the only REAL viable large scale source of clean energy is Nuclear Power.

"But what about da spooper scary nuke waste!?" you say.

Well, you can thank Obongo for cancelling Yucca Mountain storage facility. Since all the waste from a nuclear power plant can be 100% contained and then properly stored (and hell there are other types of nuclear plants that can RUN OFF THE WASTE from other plants) it's the only real clean energy source that has the scalability to power the world.

13
fegeline 13 points ago +13 / -0

Gen 4 reactors doesn't leave much waste behind and can even consume the waste from older generations. It's literally free energy just laying around.

4
Ninjavideo 4 points ago +4 / -0

Umm until you realize the excel workbook used to project power generation didn’t account for sand on the panel and now generation projections are cut in half because dirty panels don’t generate the same amount of energy as clean panels.

Or until you realize that in hot temps generation capacity goes down because of science.

To make renewables a thing, there must be investment in engineering and science... we need panels that are 10 times more efficient than they are today and cost 1/10 of the cost but then power companies will go bankrupt so obviously they’ll lobby against the rise of renewables... point being TODAYS SOLUTIONS DO NOT WORK

Imagine having a country decide in 1990 to invest in cell phones for everyone... 10 year program where everyone in the year 2000 would have a free government provided 1990 cell phone

2
rebuildingMyself 2 points ago +2 / -0

8
political29 8 points ago +8 / -0

I work in research and development for the energy sector in Germany. The green energy agenda is about to fail here in Germany. The problem isn't so much, that we have about zero solar and wind right now (that happens at least for two weeks every winter), but because of the lockdown, the energy demand is very volatile. That demand has to be satisfied with coal- and gas-fired power plants. Essentially, we are spending about 40 Billion $ per year on additional costs for electricity, but the technology we get fails us miserably. To get to a completely renewable grid, we would need to expand the current green energy capacity at least seven-fold... At the end of next year, our nuclear power plants will be shut down. That's gonna be a crap show.

4
SBOJ_JOBS 4 points ago +4 / -0

I wrote a paper on this six years ago. They would need at least 8 times more solar and wind capacity as they had online at the time (before the closing of the last nuclear capacity) to have a chance of surviving. A heralded "expert" from California tried to argue with me that power lines running under oceans would solve any little problems they might have. And then the Tasmanian under sea power cable failed (for the first time) and China and every other world power scrambled to develop deep-diving militarized robots... and here we are.

1
political29 1 point ago +1 / -0

Do you mean that, in his opinion, off-shore wind could solve the problem (thus the need for deep-sea power cables)? There aren't enough companies willing to invest in wind off-shore wind parks. And based on the data I've seen these wind parks which are supposed to run for 25 years have a significant failure rate between 12-16 years.

1
SBOJ_JOBS 1 point ago +1 / -0

He was saying that the EU (pre-Brexit) could be interconnected with enough undersea power cables to cross-connect their way to green heaven. I'm sure any bad-actor would relish the thought that a snip here and there could crash an economy overnight.

1
political29 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah, that wouldn't work. It's unbelievable how many useless ideas about Green Energy come out of California when they can't get Green Energy to run themselves.

1
RiverFenix 1 point ago +1 / -0

what came first, the power outage or the militarized robots ;)

1
lemonjuice 1 point ago +1 / -0

If they wanted to save and conserve energy, they would overturn migration.

1
political29 1 point ago +1 / -0

A right-wing party in Germany actually made their case against migration like that.

1
residue69 1 point ago +1 / -0

What's going on with France? I've read that they plan to shut down half of their current nuclear reactors, but after further research, it seems like they have at least one new one opening soon.

I ask because I've read that Germany is buying power from France.

2
political29 2 points ago +2 / -0

France's nuclear reactors are old, and too often, badly maintained. France is going to massively expand renewables (because they cucked) but new nuclear reactors might be a reality. Research in nuclear power is alive and well, even in Germany. Germany does buy electricity from France. It always depends on the current price. France buys electricity from Germany when it gets too warm because they don't have enough cooling to run on higher loads.

7
tiamat 7 points ago +7 / -0

Too bad we gave up on nuclear, its far clearer and safer and always on

6
DickTick 6 points ago +7 / -1

To be clear though, there are plenty of places on this planet where that wouldn't be an issue at all and neither would dust....

That's why common sense would dictate that as a species it would be an intelligent move for us to combine all of these energy producing methods.... I just don't understand why people from either side seem to feel as if we've got to find that one thing and stick with only it.... I don't get why it can't be a combination of things depending on where you live and what options there are...

Just like if you live in Iceland you get most of your energy from using the superheated water that's normally very deep inside the Earth, but happens to not be in Iceland.... Clearly that wouldn't work in other places, so once again, common sense would dictate that you use what works best in your geography..... some places that might be a combination of wind and solar, some places that might be nuclear, and in some places coal may very well be the best option they have.....

2
EMP2024 2 points ago +2 / -0

Solar is still not great if only for the materials needed and the vast amount of land required. And there's also the (current) issue of no nighttime production. We'd either have to produce through more conventional means at night or find a way to produce more during the day and store it.

And there's the decreased efficiency when the panels are dirty but I imagine that can be easily fixed with automatic water sprayers.

6
SBOJ_JOBS 6 points ago +6 / -0

Solar works OK 4-7 hours per day, in the right climate and latitude bands. But it costs more to store and retrieve a kWh of electricity from a battery than it does to generate it from natural gas, nuclear, or hydro. So you need 100% backup or vast quantities of wind and vast capability to transfer wind power across continents or vast quantities of expensive batteries (you will always need 100% backup)

As of right now, 06:35 local time, CA is getting less than 23% of its grid power from renewables. Yet this summer, there were many hours each day when renewables supplied well over 50%. Which means if renewables are more than doubled, then there will be many hours where capacity will have to be severely curtailed, and the fossil fuel "backups" will be forced to chase even steeper demand curves. This is when the grid breaks.

if there is no sun/wind there is no power. battery technology is not advanced enough to store enough electricity. they have to have some kind of fossil fuel (or nuclear) back up

just like how electric cars won't run without coal

5
Coldbyte 5 points ago +5 / -0

All those systems have backup coal and gas also because of the night time and dips in available electricity.

Apparently their green jobs have bottomed out too.

But don't worry Americans, all those lost pipeline jobs (current and future) will be replaced by equivalent green energy jobs, just like Germany!

WorkLiftSleepRepeat 5 points ago +5 / -0

As much as I'd love for renewable energy sources to work, a lot of times it just isn't plausible...

5
HEXEN 5 points ago +5 / -0

Been saying this for 5 years: Green energy is a hoax.

4
RussianLimbaugh 4 points ago +4 / -0

This is so they can go buying oil from Russia again. I guarantee it.

4
MRPfl 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's all a big farce, they also buy "carbon credits" for using coal to mathematically lower the foot print.

1
Tintop 1 point ago +1 / -0

oh man I forgot all about this

1
MRPfl 1 point ago +1 / -0

Don't get me started on solar, while it's an energy source it has a lot of caveats. I have ties to Germany and have been laughing my ass off knowing that snow not to mention lack of light in the winter zero things for solar. Currently living the "Sun Belt" I would have to change the panel angles a minimum of 3 times per year to maximize efficiency. Meanwhile panels are going on on house left and right.

2
Tintop 2 points ago +2 / -0

Oh my God the houses with solar panels. People tell me about their plans to "go solar" all the time because I'm an electrician. I always warn them not to do it. But they do it anyways, because fuck me right?

And they regret it, and want to cry to me about it. (I say this as someone who uses solar for cabin, but that's a whole different animal)

1
MRPfl 1 point ago +1 / -0

It has it's applications, I might do a ground based set up at some point, ability to change angles and maintain things etc, but it's not a solution/cure.

1
Tintop 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's working well for me on a small scale. Ranch gate openers, stock tank well pumps, barn lights, convenience outlets etc.

4
MrWombatt 4 points ago +4 / -0

I remember reading an article some years ago about Spain's initiative to "go green". All it did was cost them money and punch a vast percentage of people out of work.

This installed administration is going to prove a disaster. The tone def people whom did actually vote for them deserve what's coming to them. Unfortunately, the rest of us are forced to suffer with them.

mre_nachocheese 3 points ago +3 / -0

Lived in Germany for 12 years, very hard to find a alpha German male. The muzzies there are simply predators. Electric bill was expensive, everything was expensive. They are really fucking delusional people, I miss Germany, but it has turned into a third-world shithole.

3
DaayTerkErJerbs 3 points ago +3 / -0

The sad part is we've know it was a terrible strat like 7-8 years ago. Germany pays like 30c per kwh. These wind an solar panels need to be supplemented with coal or nuclear energy anyways as they're spotty as energy production and we can't efficiently store the excess during peak sun light. The depressing part is we'll be posting this in another 10 years like it's brand new information while we're fighting the Democrats tooth and nail not to implement the same failed policy here.

3
wiseracer 3 points ago +3 / -0

The wind turbines make me so angry. After 20 or so years the blades must be replaced. These are made using composite material that is not recyclable and are now filling giant landfills.

3
Wyrmshadow 3 points ago +3 / -0

In WW2, USAAF bomber crews found that their high tech Norden Bombsight was mostly useless over Germany because it was normally cloudy.

How about that? Mr Solar Panels?

Gotta love when these leftist policies crash and burn.

3
Joesf23 3 points ago +3 / -0

Lololol it will be like communism where they will simply say capitalism sabatoged the green energy or they "didnt actually try real green energy" when it totally fucking failed. Leftist are the dumbest species on the planet, they will not learn from their failures, only double down.

2
BenjaminLWillard 2 points ago +2 / -0

Green energy works perfectly as long as it doesn't weather. Bigot!

2
SBOJ_JOBS 2 points ago +2 / -0

Or the sun doesn't set. Science deniers cling to their delusions of diurnal darkness.

3
residue69 3 points ago +3 / -0

Sounds like we need SpaceX to build giant mirrors that orbit the earth and cause the sun to shine 24 hours.

Meanwhile Bill Gates plans to seed the atmosphere to dim the sun.

2
DirtyOldHacker 2 points ago +2 / -0

They should propose building giant ventilators powered by nuclear energy, that blow the artificial wind into the wind turbines.

Two birds with one stone

1
RiverFenix 1 point ago +1 / -0

Start the wind using nuclear and once enough wind is produced for the wind turbines to produce enough energy to keep the wind going, it's like a get rich quick scheme except you go broke and all the birds die.

2
HighVoltage 2 points ago +2 / -0

This is the kind of bullshit that gets implemented when countries ignore real problems in favor of solving made up ones.

2
ikuyas 2 points ago +2 / -0

easily predictable

2
SteelDriver 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yet they all still resist the 'forklift replacement' that meets all their requirements, nuclear power.

2
QuietSpark 2 points ago +2 / -0

Hey guys let’s replace our energy infrastructure with inefficient nonsense and then add in hundreds of millions of electric cars. Nothing could possibly go wrong!!!!

2
Whimpy13 2 points ago +2 / -0

Electric spot prices in Sweden are currently very high. They shut down a nuclear plant last year and have had to emergency start an oil plant to meet demand. Honk honk. 🤡🌍

2
Palmtrees [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

They shut down a nuclear plant last year

shows you what bullshit global warming and green energy is when they shut down nuclear plants which are actually green....but don't fit their bullshit narative.

2
Whimpy13 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, we shut down nuclear plants and import electricity from Polish coal plants. :/

2
NeverBeFat 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's why we need nuclear. It's the ultimate green power.

3
123breadman 3 points ago +3 / -0

Too many retards here and on the left, say it's time has passed.

Now we are either stuck using gas or solar panels. Nuclear power is the only answer, and the best answer.

2
GregTheTraceur 2 points ago +2 / -0

I bet if we warmed up the planet a few degrees, they would be able to generate green energy more easily

2
EMP2024 2 points ago +2 / -0

Did these retards forget winter happens every year?

2

1
kwqt 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, we produce the most amount of CO2 per capita in all of Western Europe.

But we also have the most expensive electricity in all of Europe.

Its called "Energiewende" and you can thank the Green Party and their nuclear energy phobia for that.

Didn't Germany vow to shut down all their Nuclear power after the Fukushima disaster? That was pretty dumb.

1
FreeNow 1 point ago +1 / -0

People forget about carbon capture and storage. Then you can use coal or gas. China is heading that way with coal gasification. It adds cost to generation but at least the lights don't go out.

1
samehereasthere 1 point ago +1 / -0

Solar isn't cost effective in Germany yet. If we look at the U.S.'s southern and northern borders, the solar potential at the northern border, ignoring cloud cover is about 1/2 the southern. This is due to the tilt of the earth. Germany is, on average, more north than the U.S. Northern border.

Solar is coming into the money, unsubsidized, in the less cloudy parts of our south. Solar will have to more than drop in half in cost per kilowatt before it makes economic sense in Germany. It will probably take a decade or more.

Policy can't change science.
