Solar power should only be used in desert environments where it will have the largest percentage of run time.

And whatever the coldest it's ever gotten in whatever area you want to put a wind turbine you make the thing rated for double that. If that makes it too expensive....

Well the only REAL viable large scale source of clean energy is Nuclear Power.

"But what about da spooper scary nuke waste!?" you say.

Well, you can thank Obongo for cancelling Yucca Mountain storage facility. Since all the waste from a nuclear power plant can be 100% contained and then properly stored (and hell there are other types of nuclear plants that can RUN OFF THE WASTE from other plants) it's the only real clean energy source that has the scalability to power the world.

Gen 4 reactors doesn't leave much waste behind and can even consume the waste from older generations. It's literally free energy just laying around.

Umm until you realize the excel workbook used to project power generation didn’t account for sand on the panel and now generation projections are cut in half because dirty panels don’t generate the same amount of energy as clean panels.

Or until you realize that in hot temps generation capacity goes down because of science.

To make renewables a thing, there must be investment in engineering and science... we need panels that are 10 times more efficient than they are today and cost 1/10 of the cost but then power companies will go bankrupt so obviously they’ll lobby against the rise of renewables... point being TODAYS SOLUTIONS DO NOT WORK

Imagine having a country decide in 1990 to invest in cell phones for everyone... 10 year program where everyone in the year 2000 would have a free government provided 1990 cell phone

What they should be doing is throwing more R&D into getting Gen3 reactors up and running, which solves a lot of the problems the fearmongers love to peddle.
