People dont seem to realize how far north Europe actually is. It doesn't take more than a tiny change in the ocean streams or a change in the wind direction and suddenly it's just as cold as Siberia.

The only reason Europe isn't Siberia is the oceans and baltic current. Good theory around the reason white people turned so white while eskimos stayed brown is that we had an agrarian society so far up north where there was pressure to trade off melanin for vitamin d.
