Parallels what happens in the US and UK, and probably others. Can't figure out how this simple tactic is sustainable. Anyone can find (or forge) such a link, while theoretically you could equally make links to existing political powers. On this website and alt-tech places there are probably loads of infiltrators that are purposefully distasteful and extreme to give ammunition to those who want to demonize opposition. I've heard this happening to a lot of competitors to Google services, I think pre-dating the Trump era, just as a business tactic. Like some image hosting service was gaining steam and all of a sudden someone uploads a lot of "dangerous" images and the bad press kills them.

Maybe early stages of a movement is the only time when such a tactic actually works, so establishing familiarity of the people in a movement might be the best countermeasure. Just guessing. It is a BS line of reasoning, so it may not adhere to any consistent rules.
