France's nuclear reactors are old, and too often, badly maintained. France is going to massively expand renewables (because they cucked) but new nuclear reactors might be a reality. Research in nuclear power is alive and well, even in Germany. Germany does buy electricity from France. It always depends on the current price. France buys electricity from Germany when it gets too warm because they don't have enough cooling to run on higher loads.
