Do you mean that, in his opinion, off-shore wind could solve the problem (thus the need for deep-sea power cables)? There aren't enough companies willing to invest in wind off-shore wind parks. And based on the data I've seen these wind parks which are supposed to run for 25 years have a significant failure rate between 12-16 years.

He was saying that the EU (pre-Brexit) could be interconnected with enough undersea power cables to cross-connect their way to green heaven. I'm sure any bad-actor would relish the thought that a snip here and there could crash an economy overnight.

Yeah, that wouldn't work. It's unbelievable how many useless ideas about Green Energy come out of California when they can't get Green Energy to run themselves.
