Don't get me started on solar, while it's an energy source it has a lot of caveats. I have ties to Germany and have been laughing my ass off knowing that snow not to mention lack of light in the winter zero things for solar. Currently living the "Sun Belt" I would have to change the panel angles a minimum of 3 times per year to maximize efficiency. Meanwhile panels are going on on house left and right.

Oh my God the houses with solar panels. People tell me about their plans to "go solar" all the time because I'm an electrician. I always warn them not to do it. But they do it anyways, because fuck me right?

And they regret it, and want to cry to me about it. (I say this as someone who uses solar for cabin, but that's a whole different animal)

It has it's applications, I might do a ground based set up at some point, ability to change angles and maintain things etc, but it's not a solution/cure.

It's working well for me on a small scale. Ranch gate openers, stock tank well pumps, barn lights, convenience outlets etc.
