In the short run these aren't cheap. But remove the annual salary, 401k plan, medical insurance, or union benefits, payroll taxes. Reduced managment time. Then compound that savings year over year, these machines more than pay for themselves.

What’s more, in a recent review of shoplifting offenders, 72% said that self-checkout made theft easy to very easy. Only 8% answered it made shoplifting more difficult.
